Thank you Glenn for making this tribute CD Defused.I Loved Angel from Montgomery and Baby Blue to name a few .I always heard Kathi was a human jukebox.. i truly wish I could have recorded some of the times we were at El Gaucho and she just sat at the piano and sang to the house a La Chanteuse..My favorite memory is of Kathi singing Somewhere over the Rainbow under low lights leaning on a Baby Grand.. this was on the weekend of our “honeymoon” to Tacoma. She was remarkable, she was hilarious . She was LARGER than life.
I was just a fan that loved her until she loved me back. ♡ I love you Black Angel..I know it was a tough row to hoe. rest in peace.

I was poking around, looking at some old Leon Russell footage and fell in love with this girl singing background. I am 10 years younger than Kathi but she reminds me so much of the older sister of my best friend when I was 10..
I had such a crush on her,,,, Kathi’s voice is as strong and powerful as any female artist I have every worked with.. So young to be gone… My prayers to her family…
Met Cathy at the Soup Kitchen Saloon Detroit Michigan in the late 70s she was singing with the late Legendary Mr long John Baldry and after the show Brian Mcdonald no relation to Cathy he owned the bar at that time locked up the front doors and we had the great pleasure of sharing some Ganga and talking all about Blues and Rock n Roll until The we we hours .while finisheing my album “Let Mr be Frank” at Ardent in Memphis in December 2012 it was their Don Nix told me that Cathy had passed two months prior wich was shocking and yet to have heard that news from Don Nix, I could feel what a loss it was for him. She was a great gift to the world, a person with soulful style that few musicians ever attain she’s badly missed long live her legacy.
Thanks for being a fan of Insane Asylum by Kathi McDonald
I did produce a CD – Defused which is 25 tracks (double) and released after she passed.
