One of the great singers of Blues and Rock. Kathi McDonald was the only women capable of filing the shoes of Janis Joplin. Recording and touring with “Big Brother and the Holding Company”, Kathi and the band recorded 3 albums and toured continuing the tradition of the San Francisco sound.

But Kathi’s story starts long before that and continues long after. Kathi was discovered by Ike Turner and toured with Ike and Tina’s Review in Las Vegas. She was a prominent backing vocal of the Leon Russell and the Shelter People tours including studio overdubs of the Mad Dogs and Englishman tour with Joe Cocker. With the Rolling Stones Kathi belted out vocals on “All Down The Line” on the Album “Exile on Main Street”.

In 1974 with the release of Kathi’s solo album “Insane Asylum” , Kathi featured breaking out artists Neil Schoen, Nils Lofgren, and established artists like Pete Sears, Sly Stone, and the Pointer Sisters.

Kathi appears on over 72 Gold records and singles. Her duet with Long John Baldry on “You Lost that Loving Feelin” Reached #1 in Canada o Australia and #2 in the US.
